Fishing

We charter fishing trips, on the North Branch of the Susquehanna River, from Ice out usually about March 15th to Ice In,usually about Dec.15th,7 days a week, weather and water permitting.

If you're interested in fishing where most of the public can't get to and you're a little on the adventurous side, join me on my 17ft Triton jet boat. I can take two people at a time and it's for the entire day, usually between 6 to 10 hours,your choice. You'll want your camera because in the approximate 15 miles that we'll cover, you'll see an abundance of scenery and wildlife.Getting in and out of the boat there is a good chance of getting your feet wet so bring old sneakers or sandals in hot weather and hip or knee boots in cold weather.

Book Early!
If your serious about going fishing with me, please book early to get the date you want. It's first come first served on booking. Some of my regular clients book TWO years in advance! So send your $50.00 deposit in. We take check, cash,or you can prepay with Paypal, or call me with your Master card or Visa information.You have 7 days from the time you tell me what day you want until the time the deposit is due.After that time I give your date to the next person who wants it. I live off those deposits in the off season.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a fishing License?

Yes, you need a current Pa. Fishing license if you are age 16 and older. You can get one on line from the Pa. Fish and Boat Commission at www.fish.state.us/license.htm .

Can I send my children under the age of 18 with you alone?

Sorry, all children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to be on my boat.

Can my children fish with us, and how about ladies?

You bet! Kids are great! And if they need any instruction on fishing I would be most happy to teach them while you fish. The youngest child I have taught to river fish was 7yrs old. You will need to tell me what kind of reel they need beforehand so I can have it on board. Ladies are always welcomed on my boat. We will make special "Pit Stops" for both.

Do you fish with us?

I will only fish with you if you invite me to, or if I need to find the next pattern. If the fish are not biting, I'll need to fish to find out what will work or maybe suggest a subtle "tip" to help you catch more fish. I will NEVER, EVER fish in water before my client does.! My goal is for you to catch all the fish before I even wet a line.

Can I bring my pet with me?

Sorry, hooks, bait and pets don't mix. Can't allow it.

Can I bring alcohol on board?

Just a little. The law states that I can not drink alcohol, but my clients can. I allow my clients no more than two beers. You still have to drive home safely, and I want you back.

Can I smoke on your boat?

Sure you can, anything legal that is.

What about lunch?

I have the lowest charter rates on the North Branch. Some people like to bring their own lunch. To keep my rates down, lunch is not included in my charter prices. However for $10.00/person I will provide lunch of 2 sandwiches, 2 drinks, chips, hard boiled egg, and a snack per person. Morning coffee and donuts on the water are included with the charter price.

We Practice Selective Harvest
Smallmouth bass in the 15" to 21" range are trophy fish, and mostly female breeders, they take 9 years and more to achieve this size. I don't kill bass to just eat.I would prefer that you take measurements and get a fiberglass replica of the trophy fish you catch.They look great and last forever. We want to do our part in ensuring that you may have a good chance of taking a trophy bass in years to come by practicing selective harvest. You may keep any legal walleye, rock bass, or channel cats you get.

Please call me at least two or three days before your scheduled trip, between 8 and 9:00pm, to finalize everything.

Cancellation and Rescheduling for Fishing Success
We fish rain or shine, however I reserve the right to cancel any charter due to weather conditions or flood stage water where passenger safety is at risk. The charter may either be rescheduled or the deposit refunded. If you cancel for any reason, the deposit is non-refundable! If you cancel after I meet you at the river, you owe me for the entire day!
